Who We Are
EBC is an independent baptist church plant in Hatfield which is affiliated with the FIEC (the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches). We presently meet in Eden House on the grounds of Countess Anne School. Our congregation, while not large, is typically quite young and diverse, being drawn from a range of international backgrounds. We trust you will have a warm welcome among us.
What We Do
We meet every Sunday to worship, serve the Lord together and encourage one another in the Christian faith. In term time, we have a Sunday School/Youth church time before the service for all children’s ages. In our worship services, we enjoy drawing upon old and new church music traditions, but our main focus is always on reading, explaining, and applying God’s word to our lives.
Why We Do It
We wholeheartedly believe that the message of the Bible about Jesus Christ is good news for all who will receive it and that our lives, once controlled by sin, can be transformed and renewed for good. Our stated purpose is “to promote the glory of God by means of preaching and teaching the Word of God, godly living, seeking to win the lost to Christ and to edify believers, by maintaining a local ministry of worship, fellowship, and service.”
